SAFIHRO implemented the First Peoples Judicial from the 1st of March 2011 and are also now known as the SAFIHRO Trust also from 01 March 2011.
The FPJC are currently looking into land claims that were lodged by the Khoekhoe and San peoples of Southern Africa. The council also deals with illegal land evictions and evictions. The council are also appointed by the Koegas CPA to help them with legal eviction of non-beneficiaries on the land which are not part of the land claims beneficiary list as claimed by claimant.
SAFIHRO development and operational areas are in human rights awareness raising, institutionalization of Khoe San leadership affairs and programs, organizing and facilitation, community development, HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Intervention Programs, Women, Youth and children development programs
SAFIHRO has been founded to render a human and indigenous rights protection and promotion program to South Africa’s First Indigenous Peoples, herein referred to the Khoe San Peoples. South African Khoe San People are spread all over Southern Africa
As an Human and Indigenous Rights Organizations, SAFIHRO has implemented an HIV/AIDS/STI and TB Intervention Program for the Promotion of Health Rights to indigenous communities, especially those living in rural and farm areas in partnership with the Northern Cape Department of Social Services
SAFIHRO act as a negotiator and facilitator in looking for funds and developers in the set up of community and institutional development programs for the betterment of indigenous communities in South Africa.
NAMAQUALAND / PIXLEY KASEME HIV / AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME
A very successful Awareness and Prevention Tour were conducted during this week. And Douglas, Askam, Riemvasmaak and Port Nolloth were visited where +/- 3000 young people participated in the programme.
PORT NOLLOTH CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP NOVEMBER 2006
Volunteers of Safihro attended a capacity building workshop in Port Nolloth, focussing on Program Co – ordination and the JUDGEMENT DAY play.
+/- 1000 community members attended the awareness and prevention programmes in the selected areas.
